While America celebrated its independence this weekend, two celebrities
joined the union – of marriage.
On Saturday, Beverly Hills, 90210 alum Tori Spelling wed actor-writer Charlie Shanian in a splashy ceremony befitting her zip code, while on Sunday
in Montana, Dennis Quaid quietly married Texas real estate agent Kimberly
Buffington.
Spelling, 31, and Shanian, 34, tied the knot at the grand mansion of her father, TV producer Aaron Spelling, who marched her down the aisle before 400
guests. The bride wore Badgley Mischka. It was a dual ceremony, performed by both a rabbi and a minister.
In attendance from 90210 days: Jason Priestley (with bride-to-be Naomi
Lowde), Jennie Garth (with hubby Peter Facinelli), Ian Ziering and Tiffani
Thiessen (with boyfriend Brady Smith).
Older Hollywood was also well represented: Paul Anka, Stefanie Powers, Ed
McMahon and Bob Newhart, along with his former costar, Suzanne Pleshette, and her
husband, Tom Poston.
It is a first marriage for both.
Meanwhile, Quaid, 50, and Buffington, 32, tied the knot with Quaid's best man
being his 12-year-old son, Jack Henry Quaid (with ex-wife Meg Ryan), and the bride's attendant was
her brother, Blake Buffington, Quaid's spokeswoman Cara Tripicchio tells the
Associated Press.
The two met in March 2003 when a mutual friend introduced them at a dinner in
Austin, Texas. The Day After Tomorrowstar was previously married to
actress P.J. Soles, from 1978 to 1983, and to actress Ryan, from 1991 to 2001.
