Fox Returns to CSI, But Will Eads?
Fox, 36, will reportedly return to the set next week after briefly losing her role for skipping work in a reputed salary dispute.
Costar George Eads, who also lost his job when he also failed to report last week for the start of production on the fifth season, is said to be still trying to finesse his return.
Eads, 37, apologized to CBS, in part, when he told TV critics earlier this week that he wasn't trying to hike his salary by missing work – he merely overslept.
"It's a big misunderstanding, straight up," Eads told the Television Critics Association on Wednesday. "I want all this to work out. CSI is a part of who I am."
Fox and Eads, who play investigators Sara Sidle and Nick Stokes on the top-rated series, were being paid a reported $100,000 each per episode.
CBS has not commented on the status of the two actors, but CBS chief Les Moonves earlier this week described the dismissals as sound business decisions. "There comes a point where we feel a contract is a contract," he said.
Others in the CSI cast, including Marg Helgenberger and William Petersen, were not involved in the dispute. Petersen also is a producer on the series.
