SNL Offers Hosting Gig to Bill Clinton
The cast of Saturday Night Live has been making fun of Bill Clinton for more than a decade – and now they might get to do it to his face.

Producers of the show have invited the former president to host an episode of SNL this coming season, an NBC spokesman confirms – though the man himself has yet to accept or decline the offer, say reports. His decision should be announced by the end of the week.

SNL followers may recall the former president being spoofed on the program, most notably by the show's resident Clinton impersonator, Darrell Hammond. SNL alum Molly Shannon frequently played former White House intern Monica Lewinsky (who also later appeared on the program), while guest host John Goodman once memorably played Linda Tripp, the whistleblower on the Clinton-Lewinsky affair.

As a candidate for President in 2000, Clinton's Vice President Al Gore hosted SNL, good-naturedly playing Frankenstein's monster for a Halloween skit.

No word on what the show's writers might have in mind for the 42nd president – who on Tuesday is due to appear on the Late Show with David Letterman, despite the frequent jabs the TV host has taken at Clinton. A somber Clinton previously appeared with Letterman in 2002, on the first anniversary of 9/11.
