Harry Potter has a new nemesis: Red Dragon and Schindler's List baddy Ralph Fiennes, who will play the wicked warlock Voldemort in the next boy-wizard screen adventure, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Warner Bros. has announced.
So cursed is Voldemort that the characters in author J.K. Rowling's books try their best not to mention his name.
Filming on Goblet – which is scheduled for theatrical release in November 2005 – began June 25 with principal characters Daniel Radcliffe (as Harry) and Rupert Grint and Emma Watson (as Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger). Fiennes has yet to appear before the cameras, the Associated Press reports.
In other casting news, Matt Dillon, who's kept a relatively low profile since the 1998 comedy smash There's Something About Mary, has signed to join Lindsay Lohan and Michael Keaton in Disney's updated Love Bug movie, Herbie: Fully Loaded.
The comedy begins shooting next week, reports Variety, with Dillon playing a handsome NASCAR bad boy. In addition to Herbie, he also will be seen in the upcoming screen adaptation of Charles Bukowski's novel Factotum, as well as in Crash, with Don Cheadle, Sandra Bullock, Brendan Fraser and Thandie Newton.
