Voice of Reason?
It may be fashionable for rockers to get into politics during this election year, but don't look for Ozzy Osbourne on the stump anytime soon, wife Sharon tells us. Though she is all for musicians like Bruce Springsteen getting vocal – "More power to them," she says – when it comes to her man, she demurs. "I don't think (he'll get involved) because Ozzy is a musician. His politics, his religion he keeps to himself."
Wedding Survival
When you've been through the rigors of Survivor not once but twice, we suppose getting married on television wouldn't be all that stressful – and that's exactly what Amber Brkich and Rob Mariano are looking to do. The pair, who got engaged on the air (are we sensing a theme yet?) after Amber won the $1 million prize on Survivor: All Stars, say they may go the same route as The Bachelorette's Trista and Ryan, whose million-dollar Palm Springs nuptials aired on ABC in last December. "No definite plans have been made, but being married on TV is definitely something we're interested in," Amber tells us. "I just don't want to lose control of my own wedding. I definitely want to be in control of the guest list, and I definitely want the wedding to be on the beach. I want the guys to wear khaki linen drawstring pants and white shirts, and Rob will stand out by wearing black pants or something." Whew! Anything else? "I want to have a reception where no one feels uptight."
Star Gazing
Caustic comedian and Rescue Me star Denis Leary may be a celebrity now, but he still remembers an early star encounter from his youth. "I was a busboy in a hotel in Boston when they were making (1978's) The Brinx Job, and I was walking out of the kitchen with a plate full of dishes, and I bumped into Peter Boyle," he tells us. "And I'll never forget what he said to me. He said, 'What the f---?' And I was like, 'Wow! I can't believe Peter Boyle said, 'What the f---?' to me.' " Sweet, right? But wait, there's more: "I told him that story when I re-met him years ago as mutual celebrities," Leary says of the Everybody Loves Raymond star, "and he said, 'I don't remember that.' I said, 'I didn't expect you to.' I can totally envision him saying that – both times. Yeah, to me, it was a badge of honor."
