The famously reticent Bob Dylan is about to tell all this fall, publisher Simon & Schuster has announced.
The legendary singer-songwriter's memoir, to be titled Chronicles: Volume One (and the first of a planned three-book series), is a first-person narrative from the 63-year-old music icon whose career spans four decades, reports Reuters.
The 304-page first volume will deal with significant periods in the life of the Duluth-born Dylan (born Robert Zimmerman), and it's described by publisher David Rosenthal as "extraordinary, revealing and surprising. It is a beautifully written, singular achievement."
Publication is scheduled for Oct. 12 and will be followed about a week later by an updated edition of Lyrics: 1962-2001, a compendium of lyrics to nearly every Dylan song – including, of course, such early classics as "Like a Rolling Stone," "Blowin' in the Wind" and "The Times They are A-Changin'."
The author previously published Tarantula, a 1971 volume of poems.
