The rocky road continues for American gymnast Paul Hamm, who was asked to surrender his men's all-around Olympic gold medal to South Korean bronze medalist Yang Tae-Young because of a scoring error.

The latest bump comes from the breakfast table.

On Monday, General Mills Inc., the maker of Wheaties cereal, announced that three U.S. Olympic champions – swimmer Michael Phelps, sprinter Justin Gatlin and gymnast Carly Patterson – will appear on millions of its iconic orange cereal boxes. Only where is Hamm?

"We feel pretty good that they were among the top performances, and they include a broad cross-section of sports" at the just-concluded Olympics, General Mills spokesman Greg Zimprich tells Reuters.

Hamm's reaction, as quoted in New York's Daily News: "My agent, from what I heard, told me that I probably had that locked up until the whole controversy broke out, but you know I'm not upset about those types of things."

Fees for appearing on boxes of Wheaties, the so-called Breakfast of Champions, were not divulged.
