Prince Harry Makes African TV Documentary
Prince Harry has a new career – behind the camera.

The 19-year-old royal has made a TV documentary, "The Forgotten Kingdom: Prince Harry in Lesotho," to bring attention to the plight of the AIDS-stricken African nation, PEOPLE reports.

The prince reportedly hopes that sales of the show to broadcasters around the world, including the U.S., will raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to help charities in the country, where the current life expectancy is only 32 years for men and 38 for women.

"The Forgotten Kingdom," which started out as a private video diary, is scheduled to air later this month and chronicles Harry's eight-week visit to Lesotho in February and March during the yearlong break in his studies. Viewers will also hear the prince talking about what he has seen and experienced and his desire to help the people there.

Made by Britain's ITN and narrated by royal reporter and novelist Tom Bradby, Harry's efforts are being viewed as his way of following the charitable footsteps of his later mother, Princess Diana, who also did much to shine a light on the difficulties faced by people with AIDS and HIV.

Already, Harry has made an impact. Two weeks ago, he revisited the southern African mountain kingdom and saw vast improvements have been made to the Mants'ase Children's Home, near Mohale's Hoek, after he first brought attention to the site.

Since that initial visit, the progress has been considerable, including the establishment of a special local bank account to manage an influx of contributions, South African farmers driving over the border to pay for and help finish building the fence Harry and his friends had started, and the donation and installation of solar panels.

"He was really encouraged by all this," says a palace source. "He was thrilled this has all happened."
