Ronald McDonald has a new double date in France: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.
The 18-year-old twins are promoting McDonald's Happy Meals at the chain's 1,035 restaurants in France, in an advertising campaign that began last week, a spokeswoman for American fast-food giant tells the Associated Press.
The meals come with a choice of a photo album, a denim bag or a crayon box. As revealed on the McDonald's France Web site, the album carries the Olsens' photo, while the bag and box are personalized with their names.
The ad campaign comes after a summer in which Mary-Kate spent six weeks in a treatment facility for an eating disorder.
This month, the two began studying as freshmen at New York University, and their longtime spokesman, Michael Pagnotta, tells the Los Angeles Times that Mary-Kate is surrounded by a team of people to assist with any personal problems. This includes a supervising psychiatrist in Los Angeles who put together a New York-based group of professionals, including a $1,000-a-day eating counselor.
Last week, PEOPLE reported that Mary-Kate and boyfriend David Katzenberg, 21, broke up after having dated since late last year. The relationship ended the first week in September in L.A. before both flew east to attend college – she at NYU, he at Boston University.
"It was a mutual parting of the ways and amicable," said a source. "Being at different schools played a part. It's reasonable for her to start school fresh."
