Kudrow and Cox Aim for Separate Comebacks
In Kudrow's case, she and Sex and the City executive producer Michael Patrick King have teamed up for a pilot called The Comeback, about a former sitcom star who is trying to revive her career.
Kudrow, who played the ditsy Phoebe on Friends for its 10 years, co-wrote the Comeback script with King and will executive produce the pilot. Former "Sex and the City" executive producer John Melfi is also closely involved in Comeback, sources said.
As for Cox, she and writer-director Nick Cassavetes (The Notebook) are said to be in discussions on a project about an actress seeking a comeback after dealing with her alcoholism. Negotiations are reportedly now underway to shoot a pilot.
Meanwhile, in other TV news, the Seinfeld curse appears to be alive and well, as evidenced by reviews for Jason Alexander's latest comeback attempt, Listen Up, arriving on CBS Monday night.
"With its grubby jokes about raining bras and baldness, and its stiff supporting cast – including ... Malcolm-Jamal Warner – even Mr. Alexander can't make Listen Up funny," laments The New York Times.
