The title is in place for Rapper 50 Cent's semi-autobiographical film debut: Locked and Loaded.
Billboard reports that the Queens, N.Y.-born rapper (real name: Curtis Jackson), 28, will play a former drug dealer who turns his back on a life of crime to pursue a music career. In real life, 50 Cent escaped death four years ago when he was shot nine times.
The screenplay for the film, which is expected to be released in 2005 or 2006, will be The Sopranos writer and executive producer Terence Winter. Jimmy Iovine and Eminem's manager Paul Rosenberg are producing the movie, having handled similar chores on Eminem's 2002 semi-autobiographical feature film 8 Mile.
In other casting news, Australian star Eric Bana, 36, Brad Pitt's costar in Troy, has been cast in the lead role of Huck Cheever in Lucky You, to be directed by Curtis Hanson (L.A. Confidential, 8 Mile), says the Hollywood Reporter.
The script, set against high-stakes Las Vegas poker, is to be written by Academy Award-winning screenwriter Eric Roth (1994's Forrest Gump).
