Trump Makes an 'Easy' Cut: Jennifer C.
The Apex team project manager, who was randomly chosen in a hat draw, led the task to put together a chef and an empty restaurant and open for dinner the next night. The win, taken by Mosaic and its team leader, Raj, depended on getting the best ratings from the Zagat consumer review guide. Joining the final evaluation in the boardroom was last year's Apprentice winner, Bill Rancic.
Still fresh on everyone's mind was last week's firing of Stacie J., for having exhibited some erratic behavior, though with this new project launch, Jennifer C. noted that Stacy R. "talks too much" and "is one of the most irritating people I have maybe ever met in 31 years of my existence on this planet."
But her team found Jennifer herself irritating, for making them scrub the restaurant clean before dawn, while Mosaic hired professional cleaners and spent the night resting. This prompted Ivana to say of Jennifer C. prophetically: "I think if we pull it off, it's not going to be because of her leadership skills."
When the Zagat scores, based on diner feedback, came in, Apex ended up with good food but "stark" decor (with "uncomfortable" chairs and tables) and "slow" and "uneasy" service. Mosaic, on the other hand, had an eatery that was "enjoyable" and "stylish," with "waiters clearly anxious to please." Their prize for their achievement: meeting former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
At the moment of the final decision in the boardroom, Donald Trump told Jennifer C. she failed as a leader and that her entire team hated her. "Jennifer, this is really easy," said the Donald. "You're fired."
