MacDowell, 46, and Hartzog, 45, married in November 2001 in a lavish 450-guest ceremony in Asheville, N.C., surrounded by her three children, Justin, now 17, Rainey, 15, and Sarah Margaret, 9 (from her first marriage to model-turned-contractor Paul Qualley). Hartzog's marriage to MacDowell was his first.
MacDowell and Hartzog first met as classmates at Gaffney High School in South Carolina. They reunited in July 1999 when MacDowell's sister, Julia, reintroduced them. "I had a secret crush on her in high school," Hartzog told PEOPLE after proposing to MacDowell in 1999. "She's such a good person, a great mother and a good Christian. She's as pretty on the inside as she is on the outside."
MacDowell, who is best known for her role in Four Weddings and a Funeral, will appear in the upcoming comedy Beauty Shop.
