Just two weeks after the death of actor Christopher Reeve, the late Superman actor has been appearing on TV spots endorsing California's Proposition 71, which would fund a decade of stem-cell research in the state, Reuters reports.
The ad was filmed shortly before Reeve's death Oct. 10. In the spot, which began airing Friday, he calls stem cells "the future of medicine."
The revered actor, who was paralyzed in a 1995 horseback-riding accident, also will be remembered Monday with the premiere of his TV movie, The Brooke Ellison Story, which airs at 8 p.m. on A&E.
The movie, a true-life tale about a courageous quadriplegic who graduates from Harvard, was already receiving praise weeks before its release and Reeve's untimely death. Ellison was hit by a car on her way home from school when she was 11. As she recovers, she is driven to return to school, and eventually attends one of the nation's most prestigious universities.
The film is based on the book Miracles Happen: One Mother, One Daughter, One Journey, by Brooke and her mother Jean Ellison.
