Posters of the Sex and the City star caused a stir among some ultra-Orthodox Jews in Israel who insisted that the images of the skin-baring star be covered up, Reuters reports.
The billboards, which are ads for Lux soap, feature Parker laying on her stomach in a skimpy spaghetti-strap dress.
The actress's exposed arms, shoulders and back was so offensive to some that a leading ultra-Orthodox rabbi warned if the posters weren't removed the religious community would boycott the company's products, the Haaretz daily reported.
The revealing posters were quickly taken down and replaced with a more modest version of the same ad: In the new pictures, Parker is wearing a shiny, long-sleeve gown made of the same fabric used in the original shots.
Downplaying the makeover, a marketing manager for the Israeli branch of consumer product group Unilever said jokingly: "We decided to make her dress more suitable for the winter weather."
