Cage Keeps Movie Crown Away from Colin | Nicolas Cage
Nicolas Cage in National Treasure proved his weight in gold, retaining the No. 1 box-office position over the long Thanksgiving weekend with $33.1 million, while Oliver Stone's loudly trumpeted Alexander, with Colin Farrell, proved not so great – to critics or to ticket buyers.

Meanwhile, the unstoppable The Incredibles remained in second place as families flocked to theaters, while the Tim Allen-Jamie Lee Curtis Christmas With the Kranks cranked out an impressive opening to come in at No. 3.

The holiday comedy, which most critics slammed for being bland, premiered Wednesday and took in $32 million over the five-day holiday period, reports the Associated Press. The weekend's other new wide release, Alexander, which also opened Wednesday, grossed $21.6 million, placing it in sixth place – behind The Polar Express and The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie.

In its 10 days, National Treasure has chalked up $87.9 million.
