Bedtime Stories
Paris Hilton and Luke Wilson were among the listeners in the sexy crowd who came out for Rosario Dawson's literary seduction at the Svedka Erotica Reading series at New York hotspot Cain. The sultry Alexander star stood on a tiny stage and read provocative poems from Alessandro Baricco's book Silk, which she said got her in the mood for her steamy love scene with costar Colin Farrell. "When she started reading, (Dawson) warned everybody that the material would not be PG-13," says a spy. Also at the event: couple Laura Prepon (That '70s Show) and Chris Masterson (Scary Movie 2).
The Young & the Restless
Even with heavy hitters Andrew Lloyd Webber and Minnie Driver around, the recent London premiere of the new film version of Phantom of the Opera was all about young star Emmy Rossum. "I'm having a lot of fun," said the 18-year-old actress, radiant in a pink Ralph Lauren dress. "It was so much fun and the fans are so warm, it was great." Not quite as warm was Driver herself, who refused to pose for photos with Rossum. But when asked about her experience working with the Good Will Hunting star, Rossum said it was "wonderful."
For a Good Cause ...
While Kobe Bryant missed the three-point shot that would have kept the L.A. Lakers from losing to the Phoenix Suns last week, wife Vanessa Bryant and almost-2-year-old daughter Natalia (dressed in pink from head to toe) had a girls' night out at the Princess Diaries 2 DVD release party, benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. While at the event, Vanessa whipped out her black American Express card and did some holiday shopping, buying sparkly pink and blue bracelets, Donna Karan-designed T-shirts emblazoned with the word "hope," St. Jude baseball caps and more.
