Tea Leoni: Sexy in Sneakers?

Tea Leoni got a little kinky with Adam Sandler in their new movie, Spanglish. The actress, who plays a neurotic mother and wife, says she insisted to the film's director, James L. Brooks, on just one thing during the couple's coupling scene. "I told Jim, 'The only thing is – and I really feel adamant about this – I want to leave her sneakers on.' " Leoni, who has two children with husband David Duchovny, says she'd never leave her running shoes on while being intimate in real life, but her character, Deborah, isn't the touchy-feely type. "Jim, I think, thought I was nuts, but there's something about me leaving my shoes on. You know where (the love scene) is not going to end up, which is cuddling in bed or falling asleep or relaxing."

A Dodgy Victory
Former Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Alyson Hannigan used some of her TV fight skills to become the last person standing in a recent celebrity game of dodgeball. Her team – the All-Americas – wasn't so fortunate: Her American Pie costars Chris Klein and Thomas Ian Nicholas got bumped out of competition in the first round. But, the game, held at the DVD release party for Dodgeball: An Underdog Story, wasn't a total bust. Hannigan and friends helped raise $70,000 for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation – even though it meant putting their famous faces in danger. "It's worth it for the kids," Hannigan said. "So I lose a couple of teeth? There are dentists all over this city." Plus, it wasn't the red-haired actress's first time dodging balls. "I was the last team member standing at the last Pediatric AIDS dodgeball event and there was this moment of 'Oh my God, what did I sign up for?' I looked over and there were what seemed to be 12 large men with balls on the other side. That didn't come out quite right – the men had dodgeballs, to clarify."

Mum's the Word
Lyle Lovett is known as a man of few words when it comes to his ex-wife, actress Julia Roberts. He lived up to that reputation when asked his reaction to the recent birth of her twins, Hazel and Phinnaeus. "It's none of my business," he said backstage at a $1,000-a-plate fund-raiser for the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation earlier this month (his performance helped raise $2.5 million). As for the future, Lovett, who's winding down after a year of touring, says he never makes New Year's resolutions. "My wish every year is that I get to keep doing what I'm doing."

Spotted Recently:
• Uma Thurman, ice skating in Central Park with an unidentified man. The Kill Bill star was gracious to autograph-seeking fans, but she politely declined photographs, says our spy. Perhaps she wanted to avoid documentation of a slightly embarrassing predicament: Apparently having lost the key to her rented locker, Thurman had to get security to cut off the lock.

• Dining at L.A. eatery Il Sole: Michael Douglas, with former Lakers coach Pat Riley; Jon Bon Jovi, with two male friends; and a perky Connie Stevens, with daughter Joely Fisher.
