Krause's character on Six Feet Under, Nate Fisher, suddenly died in late July, with a couple weeks to go before the series ended Sunday. Although Krause appeared in the last couple episodes – visitations beyond the grave being one of the series' specialties – his death shocked most viewers. But it was short-lived.
The actor, who turned 40 on Aug. 12, is now slated to appear in the upcoming Duty – his first postmortem project. Krause, who will serve as an executive producer, is scheduled to star in the story of an accountant who gets wrapped up in news stories of terrorist plots, and who is further shaken when an Islamic graduate student settles next to him.
Krause's most recent big-screen appearance was in 2004's We Don't Live Here Anymore. He also starred in the brief 1998 television series Sports Night.
