The harsh American Idol judge has announced that he will launch a televised talent hunt on NBC in which the audience helps pick future Vegas headliners from among an array of magicians, comics and the like.
"Personally, I hope to find the next Siegfried and Roy," said Cowell, 46, according to the Associated Press.
Cowell adds, however, that this time he'll be content behind the scenes as an executive producer rather than an on-air personality, though there will be a panel of celebrity judges.
The new show's premiere is slated for sometime this summer. No title has been set.
