Carrey On, Mr. Mitty

Jim Carrey has signed up for the remake of "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty," Variety reports. Carrey will take the starring role of the timid character who, in his daydreams, becomes a brave hero. Danny Kaye originated the role in 1947. No date has been set for the start of production. Carrey is currently shooting "Me, Myself and Irene" with Peter and Bobby Farrelly, after which he'll move directly into "How the Grinch Stole Christmas!'" for director Ron Howard.
