Three years after singing "Happy Birthday" for Sweden's King Carl XVI Gustaf, Stevie Wonder is getting an award from Sweden. The Royal Swedish Academy of Music picked Wonder and composer Iannis Xenakis as this year's winners of the Polar Music Prize, worth $125,000. The prize is endowed by the late Stikkan Anderson, whose record company released the songs of Swedish supergroup ABBA.

  • In other music news, Pat Boone, who turned 65 Tuesday, will premiere his latest CD on Wednesday. It's a collection of his greatest hits (such as "April Love") accompanied by new orchestral arrangements. Tonight he'll appear at Los Angeles's Shrine Auditorium with the Junior Philharmonic Orchestra of California. Boone says profits from the CD will be donated to charity.
