Forget oil spills. How about Beanie Babies? Some Atlanta motorists risked life and limb this week to grab the popular stuffed animals when they spilled onto Interstate 285 during Thursday's rush hour. The ostrich Teenie Beanie Babies likely were headed for a McDonald's outlet (which features the toys in Happy Meals) when they escaped their carrier, said a supervisor for the state's motorist assistance agency. At least six or seven motorists were seen leaning from their cars to scoop up the Beanie Babies with one hand while they kept rolling with the other hand on the wheel. Officials aren't sure which vehicle dropped the stuffed animals or how many were snatched by motorists.
