Murdochs: Divorce Accord

News Corp. chairman Rupert Murdoch and his wife Anna have reached a divorce settlement that preserves his control over his global media empire, the couple said. Details of the settlement were not disclosed, but in a joint statement the couple described it as amicable. Proceedings were completed Tuesday. Mrs. Murdoch, 54, filed for divorce last July in Los Angeles, raising questions about whether Murdoch's control of News Corp. might be threatened under California's joint property laws. Murdoch, 68, has a net worth that last year was estimated by Forbes magazine to be $5.6 billion.
