VH1 has begun production on an original TV movie, "The Ricky Nelson Story." Based on the book "Ricky Nelson -- Idol for a Generation" by San Francisco-based music critic Joel Selvin, the film will chronicle the rise and fall of the late TV star and musician. Newcomer Gregory Calpakis will play Ricky, while James Sheridan, who won a Tony Award for his work in Arthur Miller's "All My Sons," will star as Nelson dad Ozzie.

  • Also blasting out of the past is Mr. Whipple, the fussy grocer who got ticked off at customers who squeezed the Charmin. Procter & Gamble Co. is bringing back its successful ad campaign to introduce a new version of the bathroom tissue. Dick Wilson, 82, who debuted as Mr. Whipple in 1964, will come out of retirement for the new commercials, due July 1.
