Dylan, Simon Off and Rocking

Bob Dylan and Paul Simon have kicked off a 30-city summer tour that includes hits from their repertoires as well as a few duets. The two musical legends, touring together for the first time, left about 1,000 chairs empty in the 8,000-seat Colorado Springs (Colo.) World Arena on Sunday night -- the tour's smallest venue, reports the Associated Press. But the duo played to an enthusiastic crowd that rushed the stage before the concert and remained standing throughout.

  • Dressed in blue jeans and a baseball cap, Simon opened with "Bridge Over Troubled Water" before performing "Mrs. Robinson," "Slip Slidin' Away," "Graceland," "Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes" and "You Can Call Me Al." Simon and Dylan teamed on "The Sounds of Silence," dominated by Dylan's raspy growl and bluesy harmonica, followed by Johnny Cash's "I Walk the Line," which turned into "Blue Moon of Kentucky" and "Forever Young." Dylan, in a black suit and cowboy boots, followed with several slower numbers before launching into fast-paced versions of "Tangled Up in Blue" and "All Along the Watchtower."
