The invitation, which would coincide with Charles's annual visit to the royal retreat, could represent a crucial step towards formal acceptance by the royal family for Camilla, who is expected to stay for two days. Buckingham Palace refused to confirm the planned meeting, saying that Charles's visits to Balmoral were a private matter.
