Clint Eastwood, along with a few other prominent investors, is now the proud owner of one of the world's most famous golf courses. This weekend an $820 million deal to buy Pebble Beach Co. (in Pebble Beach, Calif.) from the Lone Express Co., a subsidiary of Japanese golf resort operator Taiheiyo Club Inc., was finalized. Besides Eastwood, the new ownership group includes pro golfer Arnold Palmer and former baseball commissioner Peter Ueberroth. Plans are under way to develop a new course and build 300 homes on Pebble Beach.
