A Florida woman was arraigned on criminal charges for allegedly swearing at the crew on an American Airlines flight from Miami to Boston. Patricia Lemerise, a 28-year-old art dealer from Miami, pleaded innocent to disorderly conduct and interfering with a flight crew by allegedly using a one-word expletive (it begins with "f") when she was blocked from returning to her seat for 45 minutes by a food cart in the aisle. She rejected a plea bargain that would have kept her out of jail but required her to plead guilty and left her with a criminal record. A judge set a pretrial hearing in the case for Sept. 8.
