The wife of actor William Shatner was found dead in the swimming pool of their Studio City, Calif., home, Los Angeles police said early Tuesday. A police spokesman said Shatner had arrived at his home at about 10 p.m. on Monday night and found his wife, Nerine Kidd, unconscious in the swimming pool. "He pulled her from the pool and called 911. He listened to the 911 operator's instructions and tried to perform CPR, but he was unsuccessful," the spokesman told the Associated Press. Kidd was pronounced dead when the paramedics arrived, and police are considering the death an apparent accident. Shatner, 68, is best known for his role as Captain James T. Kirk in "Star Trek." Kidd, 40, was his third wife. They married in November 1997.
