Tuesday may bring the eagerly awaited Oscar nominations, but Monday brought the Razzie nominations, for the worst on screen in 2000. Topping the list is John Travolta's much-maligned sci-fi epic, "Battlefield Earth," based on the novel by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard. (Travolta is an acknowledged practitioner of the religion.) "Battlefield" collected eight nominations, including those for the performances of Travolta and his wife, Kelly Preston. It is also up for worst picture, along with "Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2," "The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas," "Little Nicky" and "The Next Best Thing." Other names in shame include worst actor of the century (so named last year) Sylvester Stallone, for his remake of "Get Carter," Madonna in the aforementioned "The Next Best Thing," Bette Midler (for playing authoress Jackie Susann in "Isn't She Great," which wasn't) and fifth time Razzie nominee Kim Basinger, for the "Out of Africa" wanna-be, "I Dreamed of Africa." The Razzies, actually called the Golden Raspberry Awards, are handed out the day before the Oscars, which this year will be on March 24. Good luck, everyone.
