Venus Williams claimed her second Wimbledon title in two years on Sunday, defeating Justine Henin of Belgium 6-1, 3-6, 6-0. In 2000, Williams, now 21, became the first African-American woman to win Wimbledon since Althea Gibson's back-to-back titles in 1957 and '58. At Williams's dramatic moment of victory, her father, Richard Williams, hung over the edge of the players' box with his camera pointed at his daughter. Described by sports commentators as willowy and charismatic, Williams was asked by a BBC announcer how it would feel going solo to the Wimbledon champions dinner on Sunday night, since no men's winner had been determined. "That's the way it is," she replied with a grin. "It's hard in the market these days."
