This occurred once organizers realized that the program is a single-camera show, and reduces the show's tally to eight nominations and the network's to 39 . . . BORN: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced from a federal detention center that his wife, Mary Richardson, gave birth to his sixth child, a boy, in New York, while he was serving a 30-day sentence for trespassing during protests on Vieques island. The baby weighed 7 pounds, 12 ounces and is, as yet, not named, though Kennedy, the son of Ethel and the late Robert F. Kennedy, joked that he and his wife were considering "Vieques Libre (Free) Kennedy" . . . DIED: Veteran Disney animator Ted Berman, 81, who spent 45 years at the studio and whose hand was applied to "Bambi," "Fantasia," "Peter Pan" and "Lady and the Tramp," among other films, passed away in L.A. on Sunday. He had first signed on with Walt Disney in 1940.
