ADOPTED: Billy Bob Thornton, 46, and Angelina Jolie, 26, have adopted a baby boy from Cambodia, Reuters reports. "I'm a grandfather today," Jolie's dad, actor Jon Voight, said yesterday at a luncheon with his fellow Oscar nominees. Jolie picked up the baby over the weekend in Africa, where she is shooting a movie. The tattooed twosome, married since May 2000, are known for boasting in interviews about their vigorous love life. Thornton has three other children from two of his earlier marriages (Angelina is wife No. 5) . . . SUED: Singer Connie Francis, 62, filed suit against Universal Music on Monday, reports Reuters, alleging that the company breached her contract by allowing her songs to be used in films with "pornographic and sexually violent content" and that the company has continually underpaid her royalties. Francis, who was raped in 1974 and has suffered mental breakdowns since the trauma, says the use of her songs in movies with rape scenes is against her express wishes. In addition to tens of millions of dollars in damages, she is seeking to have her recordings rescinded . . . TRIED: "Jerry Springer Show" guest Ralf Panitz, 42, went on trial yesterday in Sarasota, Fl., for allegedly murdering his ex-wife after the two and his new wife appeared on the daytime talk show in an episode called "Secret Mistresses Confronted." After Panitz watched the show on July 24, 2000, reports the Associated Press, he allegedly went to his ex-wife s home and beat and stomped her to death. Panitz's defense lawyer, Geoffrey Fieger, who was also the lawyer in the "Jenny Jones" murder case, reportedly plans to call Springer to the stand.
