Demi Moore Reactivates Acting Chops

No more taking it easy in Hailey, Idaho. Smoky-voiced Demi Moore, 39, one of the hottest stars of a decade ago, is poised to play a small part in the upcoming "Charlie's Angels 2: Halo," scheduled for release next summer, according to both Variety and the Hollywood Reporter. The role, that of a former, now "fallen" Angel who operates on the wrong side of the law, will mark Moore's first movie job in five years, since a self-imposed exile to raise her three daughters (by Bruce Willis, to whom she was married from 1987-2000): Rumer, 14, Scout, 11, and Tallulah, 8. In an April 2001 cover story, PEOPLE described Moore as having once been "an unabashedly ambitious actress who announced her desire to achieve 'greatness' in her career -- which by 1995 had accounted for more than $1 billion in box office receipts for hits that included 'A Few Good Men,' 'Indecent Proposal' and 'Disclosure.' " The article went on to say that "the woman once known in the industry as Gimme Moore for her extravagant demands -- most notably jets for her crew of nannies, cook, trainer and stylist -- appears disinclined to ask for anything at all." No word on what she will be paid to appear with Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu and Cameron Diaz. At her peak, Moore commanded $12 million a picture. She was last seen in the barely noticed "Passion of Mind."
