The mega-selling author -- who apparently has some time on her hands now that her fifth book, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix," is slated to hit store shelves in June -- will appear as herself in an upcoming episode of the 14-year-old FOX animated series.
"I can confirm that she did a voice-over for 'The Simpsons, '" Rowling's spokeswoman told Reuters.
The episode in which the author appears is set in England, the news service reported. The dysfunctional family from Springfield will reportedly be in that country to track down a woman with whom Grandpa Simpson had a fling during World War II.
Rowling joins the ranks of stars such as Meryl Streep, Bette Midler, Conan O'Brien and others who have lent their voices to the animated show.
