Grammy-nominated R&B singer Faith Evans and her husband-manager, record executive Todd Russaw, have been arrested near Atlanta and charged with possession of marijuana and cocaine, according to CNN and the Atlanta-Journal Constitution.
Evans, 30 (who was once married to slain rapper Notorious B.I.G.), also was charged with having an improper vehicle tag, according to Lt. Clarence Huber of the Fulton County Sheriff's Department.
The couple was arrested south of Atlanta near Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, and they were due to appear before a judge on Wednesday morning, said Huber.
The Newark, N.J.-born Evans, who has three children, lives in Alpharetta, a northern Atlanta suburb, according to her Web site. Her late husband, rapper Notorious B.I.G. (real name: Christopher Wallace), was killed in a 1997 drive-by shooting in Los Angeles.
Evans recently appeared with Cuba Gooding Jr. and Beyonce Knowles in the movie "The Fighting Temptations," and has worked with Whitney Houston and Sean "P. Diddy" Combs.
It was Combs who signed her to his Bad Boy label and produced Evans's first album, which included "You Used to Love Me," and "Soon As I Get Home."
