After joining the singing competition in May, Spears makes her debut as a judge on The X Factor's second season premiere. "I prefer to be honest. I think that's the best way to go," she tells Ellen DeGeneres of her judging style. "I wouldn't want to be told something and then waste seven years of my life."

Split Decision
Following a yearlong engagement, Spears and fiancé Jason Trawick call it quits. "I'll always adore him and we will remain great friends," the singer says in a statement, with Trawick adding, "I love and cherish her and her boys and we will be close forever." The announcement comes on the same day Spears reveals she's leaving The X Factor to work on her music.
Moving On
Spears is spotted with new beau David Lucado on a coffee run in Calabasas, Calif. Though she remains mum on their relationship, she later joins him in Las Vegas, and the pair continues to step out together.
