Playing the Field
Diaz is spotted cozying up to New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez in Boston when the baseball star is in town for a game. The pair spends the summer together in New York and the actress tells Harper's Bazaar in July she's become a Yankees fan. In the fall, they call it quits, with Rodriguez telling PEOPLE, "I have a lot of love for Cameron. We'll always be friends."
Diaz joins Jennifer Lopez and Glee's Matthew Morrison for the big screen adaptation of What to Expect When You're Expecting, a romantic comedy based on the popular pregnancy guide of the same name. Despite its literarysuccess, the film fails to win over audiences, only delivering $12 million during its box office debut.
Congrats, Cameron! Just before Christmas, sources close to Diaz confirm she's engaged to rocker Benji Madden. "Since she started dating Benji, Cameron has changed in a very positive way," a friend tells PEOPLE (the pair hit it off in early 2014). "She can't stop smiling and seems much happier."
Something About Married
Congrats, Cam! Diaz surprises fans by wedding fiancé of two weeks Madden in an almost-secret ceremony in her Beverly Hills home on Jan. 5. Pals Drew Barrymore and Nicole Richie serve as bridesmaids, and Reese Witherspoon and Gwyneth Paltrow are among guests at the festive event. "We couldn't be happier to begin our new journey together surrounded by our closest family and friends," the couple tells PEOPLE.
