Hollywood's Real 'Modern Families'

From single moms like Sandra Bullock to older dads like Bruce Willis still adding to their brood to friendly exes like Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen, celebrities are redefining what it means to be a family today

A SENSE OF STABILITY

When Charlie Sheen's 4-year-old twins, Max and Bob, were removed from the home of their drug-addicted mom, Brooke Mueller, in May, it was the actor's ex, Denise Richards, who took the boys in, even though she already had a full house with three daughters: 9-year-old Sam and 7-year-old Lola – her kids with Sheen – as well as her 23-month-old adopted daughter, Eloise. The actor is supportive of the temporary custody arrangement and, sources say, considers Richards "a stable, very maternal" influence on the boys.
