It seems Chris Hemsworth has been scoring at the box office ever since arriving Stateside. American audiences got their first peek of the Aussie hunk as Captain Kirk's father in 2009's Star Trek, but it wasn't until the 6-foot-4-inch blond beat out kid brother Liam for the lead in Thor that Hollywood saw his leading-man potential.

Before he played a Norse god on screen, Hemsworth got his start on the Australian daytime hit Home and Away. Taking his soap skills to the U.S. in 2007, the actor soon landed in the blockbusters Star Trek and Thor. But 2012 proved to be his best year yet with the release of the record-breaking The Avengers and Snow White and the Huntsman, which costarred Kristen Stewart.

Off screen, the actor tied the knot with actress Elsa Pataky in 2010. Two years later, the couple welcomed daughter India Rose, followed by twin boys Tristan and Sasha in 2014.
