The relatively unknown Denise Richards made an indelible impression on male audiences with her infamous threesome with Matt Dillon and Neve Campbell in 1998's Wild Things.

With her lusty image in tow, she became a Bond girl in 1999's The World Is Not Enough, and after working with Charlie Sheen on Spin City, Richards married him. While several months pregnant with their second child, she filed for divorce and publicly battled Sheen for custody of their two daughters.

Tabloid attention grew when Richards soon began dating Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, who at that time was married to her former friend Heather Locklear. After their breakup, Richards headed to reality TV, starring on E!'s Denise Richards: It's Complicated and ABC's Dancing with the Stars.

After reconciling with an unstable Sheen, the single mom added another baby to her brood, adopting a baby girl, Eloise Joni Richards, in 2011.

Denise Richards was called "fish lips" for her prominent pout as a kid.
Though she claimed to be skinny with buckteeth and braces as a teenager, Denise Richards was voted Best Looking at El Camino High School in Oceanside, Calif.
Denise Richards has loved getting glam since she was a little girl. "My younger sister and I used to watch my mom put her makeup on," she told In Style. "We would always get her old makeup and play dress-up. It was a disaster."
Denise Richards was awarded with a Golden Raspberry Award (Razzie) as 2000's Worst Supporting Actress for her role in The World Is Not Enough.
During her first pregnancy, Denise Richards craved French toast and grapefruit and rubbed coconut butter cream on her belly to avoid stretch marks.

"She was fairly quiet," investment analyst Jon Fellows, who claims to have shared Richards' first kiss in seventh grade, tells PEOPLE. "You wouldn't have thought she would become a star." But by high school, when Richards' family moves to Oceanside, Calif., the skinny kid with the glasses emerges from her shell and starts working part-time as a model. She moves to L.A. after graduating high school in 1989, where she spends years staying afloat with bit parts on television shows including Saved by the Bell, Married With Children and Beverly Hills, 90210.

Richards lands a lead movie role as futuristic fighter pilot Carmen Ibanez in the box-office dud turned cult classic Starship Troopers. "It was not my best performance," she bluntly tells EW in 1998. "I had this smile plastered on my face throughout the whole movie. I was so annoying."
