Carson married fourth wife Alexis Maas (in 1993), a former aide to Massachusetts Gov. Michael Dukakis, in 1987. Despite his many nuptials, Carson was known for being reclusive and having few close friends. "On the show, I'm in control," he once said. "Socially, I'm not."
