An avowed animal lover, Hilscher was a freshman from Woodville, Va., who lived on the same floor at West Ambler Johnston Hall as victim Ryan Clark. "She worked at a veterinarian's office and cared about (animals) her whole life," family friend John W. McCarthy told the AP of Hilscher, who was planning to major in animal and poultry sciences.
