Unable to have children because of Allen's congenital heart condition, the couple adopted Sandra in 1934 and Ronnie in 1935. "I find you have to take each day as it comes and be thankful for who's left," Burns told Cigar Aficionado. "They keep me busy. Without that, I'd be lost."
