MATTHEW'S DAY OFF (2012)

In a riotous riff on Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Matthew Broderick fakes a case of the sniffles and plays hooky from his day job (movie star!). Among the references that gave us flashbacks to 1986: Broderick visits a museum; a valet deadpans, "Broderick …? Broderick …?"; and our hero crashes a parade (though no "Danke Schoen" this time). One version of the Honda CR-V ad ends just the way it should, with Bueller – er, Broderick – uttering his alter ego's famous advice: "Life moves pretty fast – if you don't stop and look around once in awhile ..." Well, you know the rest.
