Celebrity Rehab Success Stories

With time and treatment, stars like John Stamos, Selena Gomez and Jon Hamm found the way from rock bottom to tip-top shape

The former Full House star checked himself into a 30-day substance abuse program following his June 2015 DUI arrest. Opening up about the struggles leading up to his rehab stay, Stamos told Howard Stern that his parents' deaths and his divorce from Rebecca Romijn "sent me sort of down a wrong path." Soon, things had spiraled out of control: "I lost myself, I lost my sense of discipline, which my dad taught me so well, and I just became someone – more and more I was just dipping into that dark place. It happened more and more and it just got darker and darker," he told the radio show host. The actor admitted to being "embarrassed" by his "horrific DUI" and said he went into the recovery program determined to confront his demons. "I walked in those doors, I said, 'Tell me what to do.' I'll do anything I can – and if it doesn't work after the time, then it didn't work, but I'm going to apply myself a hundred percent to it." Now, the soon-to-be Fuller House actor says he's drug- and alcohol- free.
