From Donald Trump to 50 Cent, see which stars started a new chapter after filing for Chapter 11

Basinger's problems began when she lost an $8 million breach-of-contract lawsuit to Main Line Pictures after pulling out of the film Boxing Helena. The actress declared bankruptcy in 1993, revealing in court documents that her monthly expenses included $575 for dry cleaning, $9,000 in alimony for ex-husband Ron Britton and $7,000 on pet care (she owned 17 dogs and cats). Though the ruling was later overturned on appeal, she would go on to sell her interest in the town of Braselton, Georgia – which she'd bought in partnership for $20 million in 1989 – for $4.3 million in 1995. Basinger's luck has since turned around, thanks to a Best Supporting Actress Oscar win for L.A. Confidential and roles in films including 8 Mile. She'll next appear on the big screen in the upcoming Ryan Gosling/Matt Bomer thriller The Nice Guys.
