1989: LAURENCE OLIVIER DIES AT AGE 82

The legendary stage and screen star took his final bow when he passed away in his sleep at home with his family. "He was the greatest actor of the century," Anthony Hopkins said after his death, while Peter Hall called him "perhaps the greatest man of the theater ever."
