Crime: In May 2000, on the last day of school, Brazill allegedly shot and killed teacher Barry Grunow at Florida's Lake Worth Middle School.

Sentence: The 14-year-old was offered a plea deal of 25 years in prison for the shooting, but he and his family rejected the offer, maintaining Brazill killed Grunow by accident. Brazill was tried as an adult and found guilty by a jury of second-degree murder. He was sentenced to 28 years in adult prison, followed by another seven years of house arrest and probation, reports Time.
